Originally from Alexandria, Egypt, hip-hop artist Sherif Mattar aspired to be a novelist at an early age. He began convertinghis short stories into raps after discovering his love for Hip-Hop music. Raised in Northern Virginia, Sherif grew an affinity for the lyricism and storytelling prevalent in the East Coast scene. His greatest musical influences include Jay-Z, Nas, Kanye West, and The Beatles. In 2015, Sherif’s album Misadventure was covered by DJ Booth and his single “Grammy” placed #2 on satellite radio’s Record Breakers Top 40. He has opened for Soulection, Fat Trel and Goodie Mob, and performed at A3C and SXSW. His latest project Driving In Circles is set to release Spring 2016.
