Female Police Officer Attacked and Chopped By a Woman While on duty in Hanover

On the eve of International Women’s Day, which is being widely observed both globally and in Jamaica, the Hanover police arrested a woman who allegedly attacked and injured a female district constable in the parish on Wednesday.

Reports are that the district constable was in the Cousin’s Cove area of the parish making enquiries relative to a report to the police about a child being in need of care and protection.

While seeking to find the child, the constable was reportedly attacked and chopped on her hands by a woman who is believed to be on unsound mind.

Citizens in the community reportedly came quickly to the assistance of the policewoman, resulting in her escaping more injuries.
