11-year-old boy accused of chopping 14-year-old friend to death behind bars
An 11-year-old boy who allegedly used a machete to hack his 14-year-old friend to death in the farming community of Lowe River on Monday afternoon, is now behind bars.
The deceased has been identified as Orane Johnson of Lowe River Primary and Junior High. His alleged killer, who will reportedly turn 12 later this month, was held in bushes by residents and turned over to the Wait-a-Bit police on Monday night.
Reports are that about 4 pm, the two friends had a heated argument that escalated into a fight, when the younger one used a machete to inflict a chop wound to the neck of Orane.
The 14-year-old died on the spot, while his alleged attacker fled the scene.
The Wait-a-Bit police are investigating.
